Apparently you can scrap the idea of Chuck Liddell vs Tito Ortiz 3 as well as Randy Couture vs Rich Franklin because a source close to the situation told Heavy.com today that Liddell vs Couture 4 is in the works for UFC 116. The bout has also been rumored to be the co-main event to the blockbuster match up between UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and newly crowned UFC interim heavyweight champion Shane Carwin on July 3rd.
Chuck and Randy have both put on classic fights in the past with “The Iceman” getting the better of “The Natural” 2/3 times with 2 knock outs. Randy won the first match as he shocked the world by technically knocking out Liddell.
This leaves many fans to wonder what is going on with Tito Ortiz who has since been on and off in regards to fighting Liddell who coached opposite to him on The Ultimate Fighter 11.
Although this has been released to Heavy.com , there have been many different rumors circulating about all Liddell, Ortiz, Couture and Franklin. First it was said that Liddell vs Ortiz would happen, then it was Couture vs Franklin. Rumors began to circulate that Ortiz got injured so Liddell would be now be fighting Rich Franklin. Now the word is Liddell vs Couture 4.
