This October, UFC 121 will rock your world, homeboy.
The event, set in Anaheim, was already confirmed to be where Brock Lesnar will meet Cain Velasquez and where Jake Shields will make his UFC debut, but now more match ups have been added to what should be a monstrously large card.
Another big name, Tito Ortiz, is set to meet fellow light heavyweight Matt Hammill in what could be one of the last fights of Ortiz’s legendary yet injury plagued career.
Also confirmed is a welterweight fight between Diego Sanchez and Paulo Thiago. Sanchez did very poorly in his last outing, losing to the rising John Hathaway. Once a lightweight #1 contender, Sanchez needs another win to reclaim his appeal to the audience and reinforce the power of “Yus!” but Paulo Thiago is a very dangerous man and will be a great challenge. Thiago, was recently on the way up the ladder himself, but got stopped short of a title shot when he was defeated by Martin Kampmann at UFC 115. This is quite an interesting match up.
Another fun fight set for the same night will see Brendan Schaub punching it out against Gabriel Gonzaga in what should be a very entertaining fight; probably short in length, with a stunning sudden ending.
But that’s not all. Todd Duffee will get a chance at redemption after his loss to Mike Russow when he meets Jon Madsen in the Octagon.
All that plus 3 other entertaining fights will combine to be well worth the $54.99 plus tax that DirecTV will want for the card in high-definition.
