Matt Hughes is blogging for ESPN leading up to his fight at UFC 136. Hughes is a former long time UFC Welterweight Champion and will Face Josh Koscheck on September 24th. Hughes was originally slated to face Diego Sanchez, who was forced out of the fight with an injury just 21 days out from the fight. Part of being a successful fighter is being having humility. The Former Champion has sought out the help of his former Coach Pat Miletich and BJ Penn for this fight. Miletich coached Hughes during his days as the UFC Champion and also has been a UFC Champion himself. Hughes opened his own facility closer to his family farm and left the Miletich camp a few years back. Recently Shogun Rua returned to his original Coach Master Cordeiro and was rewarded with a huge knockout over Griffin at UFC Rio. This may prove to be the move that pushes Hughes back into his championship form. Hughes also brought in his new found friend BJ Penn to help him prepare for this fight. Once again Hughes has shown humility in order to prosper in his fight career. Hughes and Penn once had a heated rivals and have fought 3 times. Most recently BJ Penn knocked Hughes out in the opening minute of round 1. To read about Hughes’ experience in full, CLICK HERE TO SEE HIS FULL BLOG ON ESPN.
