In this post fight interview with www.sherdog.com, Trainer Greg Jackson discusses his student Carlos Condit’s victory over Nick Diaz. With the victory, Condit became the interim welterweight champion of the UFC. Dubbed the “Natural Born Killer” for his aggressive fighting style, Condit seemed to be moving away from contact, more than he engaged during the fight with Diaz. Although Condit was given the decision by all 3 judges cage side, the buzz around the internet and even print media, has been that Nick Diaz should have won the fight and they were not pleased with the “running” that Condit did in the cage. Opinions have varied, well there are those who believe Diaz should have won the fight, according to the compustrike numbers, Condit did indeed land several more strikes during the fight than Diaz did. So, perhaps there is an explanation for the way Condit performed versus Diaz? Well, there is, below head trainer Greg Jackson explained the game plan of Carlos and how in fact, he actually executed the game plan to near perfection.
