MMAPRIME.tv is live, front and center at the Bren Center in Irvine, California for War on the Mainland. Tonight is packed with big named and should be filled with action. Hit refresh on your browser every few minutes for live updates and play by play from the event. Fights in order:
A.J. Mathews vs Sean Choice 170lbs
rd 1. AJ gets a takedown, spends most of the round with light GNP and brutal body shots.
It looks as if Lyoto Machida will square off with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, in what will likely be the main event of UFC 123 on November 20th. Machida himself confirmed the bout on his Twitter account saying: “My next fight is confirmed and it’s to be against Rampage.”
Jackson had shown a disinterest in a fight versus Machida, reasoning that he wanted to have a more exciting fight for the fans, rather than another bout with a calculated and technical fighter. Jackson’s last trip to the Octagon at UFC 114 saw the former UFC light heavyweight champion suffer from ring rust as he was dominated by Rashad Evans.

This October, UFC 121 will rock your world, homeboy.
The event, set in Anaheim, was already confirmed to be where Brock Lesnar will meet Cain Velasquez and where Jake Shields will make his UFC debut, but now more match ups have been added to what should be a monstrously large card.
Another big name, Tito Ortiz, is set to meet fellow light heavyweight Matt Hammill in what could be one of the last fights of Ortiz’s legendary yet injury plagued career.
Dave Meltzer is reporting that Joe Stevenson has suffered a knee injury in training and will be forced to withdraw from his scheduled fight against Takanori Gomi at UFC Live on Versus 2. Tyson Griffin will fill in and face “The Fireball Kid” instead.
It’s unfortunate that Stevenson will be out however Griffin will ensure that it is still an exciting fight.
Gomi made his UFC debut in March against Kenny Florian at UFC Fight Night 21, losing via rear naked choke. Griffin himself is also coming off of a loss. He recently faced Evan Dunham at UFC 115 dropping a decision to a fellow Xtreme Couture fighter.
Randy Couture visits Brock Lesnar at Death Clutch gym to help Lesnar train for UFC 116.

Tonight, Strikeforce invades the “City of Angels” for a mid-week show at the Nokia Theatre that marks the beginning of a 4 event MMA super-week that takes place over the next 5 days.
This is also the first of two Strikeforce events that are planned for this month in the state of California; the second being June 26th’s “Fedor vs Werdum” event which will take place in San Jose.
Strikeforce: LA should be an exciting night of fights featuring some intriguing match ups, including the catchweight main event that will award the winning fighter with a title shot at their respective weight class.
Wednesday night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler and Renato “Babalu” Sobral will meet in the cage for what seems to be your traditional striker vs. grappler matchup at Strikeforce: Los Angeles. However, there is more to this fight than just a striker vs. grappler match up, mainly on the behalf of Sobral.
Strikeforce has signed JZ Cavalcante to a one-year, four-fight deal. He was scheduled to fight with Dream recently but they postponed his fight. With his expiring contract with Dream, he was able to sign with Strikeforce. His current record is 14-3-1 with his latest loss coming from Tatsuya Kawjiri and Shinya Aoki, both by decision.
They say the early bird gets the worm and DREAM 14, which started at at 3am/ET, was one hell of a worm!
From the opening ceremonies, which featured a psychedelic mix of fight clips intertwined and overlapped with geometrical shapes and bright moving color all to the tune of Bjork, it was clear that we were in for some fun.
The entertainment in the white cage itself was just as electrifying, possibly even the best DREAM event ever held.
