Aaron Tru from MMAPrime.tv presents behind the scenes coverage from StrikeForce.

Saturday night packed a punch for sure, but what does all of this mean for MMA and specifically for Strikeforce?
I’ll hypothesize:
Josh Thomson def Pat Healy via Submission, 4:27 into Rd 3
Healy deserves some major props for his performance against Strikeforce’s former lightweight champion. He worked some nice takedowns and and even took a round against Thomson. It wasn’t enough though; Thomson had the better ground game and overcame the wrestling of Healy to score a 3rd round submission win with a rear naked choke.

Fabricio Werdum’s walkout took longer than his fight with Fedor Emelianenko did. The Brazilian called “Vai Cavalo” needed only 1 minute and 9 seconds to use his highly credentialed jiu jitsu talents to shock the world of mixed martial arts and prove that the “baddest man on the planet” is merely human.

EA Sports took stage at E3, the annual extravaganza for electronics and video games, and released the cover for their anticipated debut into MMA video games EA Sports MMA.
The cover features Fedor Emelianenko and current UFC fighter and UFC hall of famer Randy Couture. Couture owns his image and thus chose to participate in the game, something Dana White is not pleased with.
The release date was also announced as October 19th so your countdown can begin.
Here’s a clean picture of the cover:
Earlier today, StrikeForce issued the following statement.
SAN JOSE, Calif. (May 4, 2010) – After months of anticipation, the world’s No. 1 heavyweight and pound-for-pound Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter, Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko (31-1), will make his eagerly awaited return to the cage to face two-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion and top-ranked superstar Fabricio “Vai Cavalo” Werdum (13-4) in a STRIKEFORCE and M-1 GLOBAL co-promoted event at HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. on Saturday, June 26, live on SHOWTIME® at 10 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast).
